NADRA Makes Major Changes to National Identity Laws

NADRA has updated national identity regulations to simplify public procedures, according to Media Director Syed Shabahat Ali.

Key updates include:

  • Birth, death, marriage, and divorce certificates remain under Union Councils.

  • Children’s photos are now added to the B-Form.

  • CRCs for children under 3 will follow the old format without photos.

  • For children over 3, CRCs will include photos and biometrics; a new version will be required at ages 10 and 18.

  • Old B-Forms remain valid, but a new CRC is now required for passport applications.

  • Each child will get a separate B-Form.

  • Family details are accessible via NADRA’s mobile app.

These changes aim to improve efficiency and reduce public inconvenience.
